Shantel is a model based out of Atlanta, Georgia, who contacted me when she was visiting family in Iowa. She needed some new studio portraits for her agency portfolio look book. After a short conversation, it was clear that we’d work well together for this project, so I was happy to schedule an afternoon session with her.
We decided on a collection of black-and-white images for this project. Simple black wardrobe on a clean white background was the perfect style for a stylish, classic vibe. I recently learned that not only did these photographs help her gain work in her primary (non-exclusive) agency, they have helped her to secure representation by additional agencies, as well. So cool!
I shot most of these studio portraits with the Nikon Df camera and Nikkor 85mm AF-S lens. I also used the Leica M240 and 50mm Summilux-M lens for a few. Lighting was Paul C. Buff strobes in a variety of softboxes.
